Peter Welch and Vermont business leaders at the Hilton Burlington Hotel. “In this era of economic instability, there is no better time than now to engage Vermont’s business community with an expert in fiscal responsibility,” Welch said. “The Concord Coalition brings a non-partisan view of the nation’s financial health to Washington at a critical time in our nation’s history.”

The chief executives of Vermont’s leading businesses are less optimistic about sales prospects, capital outlays, and employment levels for the winter and spring, compared to third quarter forecasts. The mood of the statewide business community was assessed in the middle of the fourth quarter and released today by Vermont Business Roundtable Chairman Tim Volk and President Lisa Ventriss.

(Burlington) A panel of Vermont educators and business leaders will provide local perspective to a nationwide program focusing on pre-kindergarten education during a Pre-K Now National Conference Broadcast on “Breaking Down the Barriers to Quality Pre-K” on Dec. 10 from 1-4 p.m. The national broadcast will originate from Washington, DC. Local participation is planned for the Fireplace Lounge at the University of Vermont’s Living-Learning Center in Burlington.
